What is Brasilia and who are its people? The New Guide to Brasilia delves into the enigma of life in this airplane-shaped city, built from scratch in just four years, as a Brazilian collective dream. The guide's chapters offer fresh perspectives on Brasilia and encourage readers to discover this weirdly unique city. The first edition of The New Guide to Brasilia was funded through crowdsourcing, quickly becoming a local bestseller and a national reference for publications on understanding modern architectural heritage.

Brasilia is primarily recognized for its monumental architecture and designed masterplan, which are undeniably remarkable, but only part of its overall essence. In its first six decades, Brasilia highlights not only the beauty, but also the contradictions of a city that wasn’t born from organic growth, but from the ambitious goal of creating a Brazilian icon. The pros and cons of living there can be strongly felt, and that’s what the readers are invited to explore in the texts, pictures, drawings and maps, made by someone who wants to share her hometown, as if showing it to her own friends.

Products inspired by Brasilia's visual language, created to accompany special editions of the guide book.
