Cinema Urbana - Video Mapping

Museu de Arte de Brasilia, Brazil

gallery team

Cinema Urbana is an Architecture Film Festival that takes place annually in Brasília, Brazil, and screens documentaries, experimental, animation, and fiction films in which architecture and cities are always protagonists. In the 2022 edition, we created a live VJ and DJ performance, utilizing exclusively excerpts from the films on display at the festival to compose the audio-visual narrative. The façade of Brasília Art Museum served as the canvas for projection mapping, and we reinvented the space for a night of celebration.

Cinema Urbana - Imagining Possible Worlds

The city has always been the main theme and setting of cinema. Both directors and architects are interested in the ways in which cinema constructs spaces in the mind that articulate the interface between individual and collective experience. What do we see when we see the city through the lens of a camera? How much of our cities, architecture, and behaviors have been reconfigured by cinema?
